What do you think about the design of the future Busuanga Airport terminal?
Once at par with the best airports in the PH, ngayon parang domestic airport nalang. I will shift the blame to CAAP VI for neglecting Iloilo Airport — from passenger services to airport infrastructure. Example is yung bridge sa Bay/Gate 4 na hanggang ngayon sira parin. Yung CR sa waiting area just across the terminal na mapanghe parin. At ngayon may mga porters na sila sa departure at arrival areas, wow! akala ko sa mga pantalan lang ang mga porters, pati na rin pala sa int'l airport meron na.
And there's the airconditioning.
Akala ko ba bago na lahat ng chillers sa airport? Bakit napaka init sa boarding bridge kung bago ang chillers nila? One airline employee once answered me "pinapatay nila". I was like "what??!!" Nag babayad kami ng terminal fee tapos pinapatay lang nila ang aircon? What kind of services CAAP VI have? No wonder kulelat ang Iloilo Airport sa ibang major airports sa PH. May mga kasabayan ako sa flight minsan na nagrereklamo na mainit ang pre departure area hanggang boarding gate, and does CAAP VI knows that? I think they do, but they chose to shrug it off. Importante lang naman ay malamig ang opisina nila, just like other govt offices.
And the runway maintenance pa pala.
Last year meron din silang ginawang runway closure from 11pm yata to 3am or 4am, for 3months (correct me if I'm wrong). Airlines have to adjust their schedules para ma. accomodate ang flights sa gabi and first flights sa umaga. At kapag kailangan nila ng extension, may bayad sa CAAP VI. Halos every week yata may extension ang PAL, CebuPac at AirAsia para mahabol ang delays. Tapos ang ending, after all the hassle, weeks after the runway maintenance, may pothole kaagad na nakita. In short, PALPAK ang contractor nila. Ngayong June, may runway closure ulit, runway maintenance ulit. Airlines have to adjust and pay for the extension na naman. Sana this time, maayos yung contractor na kinuha nila. Iloilo Airport is the only international airport na hindi makapag handle ng wide bodied jets just because of poor runway maintenance. Napag iwanan na talaga ang Iloilo Airport thanks to CAAP VI. You people deserve a monument sa labas ng gate.
