Studying lichen for a summer internship and I came across these. Are these be the fruiting body of basidio lichen or are they just tiny mushrooms
Hello, I am a student using a DBH tape for a project I’m doing, specifically the one from forestry suppliers, and my tape is broken very strangely. When wound the correct direction, this is tightening down the screw holding it together, eventually to the point where it can no longer be wound anymore. When wound the opposite way, it quickly becomes too loose and then completely falls apart. Any advice or insight into this would be great as I am unable figure out what the issue is since it just happened out of nowhere. Attached is a video of the issue
I am working on a lichen study and want to purchase a digital microscope that will get enough detail to be useful while still remaining inexpensive. I am thinking something with about the same magnification as a dissecting scope. Also would like it to plug into a monitor/laptop so that I can easily take photos of samples that I have gathered in order to keep track of what looks alike. anyone know any good products like this? I am eyeing the Carson MM-840, does anyone have experience with this or a different product under about 100 dollars? I would like something that can also be used for things like coins.
I am looking into buying a new garmin gps for the purpose of some science work I am doing, but to justify the cost I want to get one that will also do what I want in terms of geocaching. What is the difference between the garmin live geocaching and the garmin paperless geocaching?
I am an environmental biology student and I am currently working on a project involving sampling lichens. I need a gps to record the location of samples as well as navigate to gps points that I have created already, ideally with 3 meter accuracy, or better. I am considering buying the 67 or 67i, but would like more info on what to lean towards. I don't have a huge budget, but I am willing to spend a bit more on something that will also be usefull for other things, such as geocaching/general outdoors recreation. What GPS (if any) do people here use for this sort of thing?
