Why do my coleus plants get this weird tint?

This is a coleus that I grew hydroponically and just transitioned to soil before I took the picture. I added hydroponic nutrients to the reservoir regularly about once every 10 days. I also have some coleus that I bought from a nursery in soil and it gets this weird tint also. They seem otherwise healthy, no rot, not dry. I’ve tried humidity and no humidity. They get a lot of light, these are under a grow light, my other one is in partial sun. Any knowledge you have on growing these beautiful plants is helpful. Please be kind though lol I’m trying. I will also add pictures of my other hydroponic coleus plants that I have not transitioned.

Happy birthday to me! Scored this queen for $30 on clearance at Lowe’s!

My first elephant ear! I’m so happy about this! Normally priced at $80, there are no noticeable pests, she seems to be in good health and is MASSIVE. However she was knocked over and has taken some physical damage. Also appears to have some sun damage. There are some damaged leaves, should I trim them or let them vibe?

The one succulent I can’t keep alive 💀

I made a post the other day about receiving duplicate plants from MCG. Honestly, I wasn’t very excited about them at first, so I didn’t even repot or water them. I just moved them around between a grow light, a window, and now my mostly shady porch (where they currently reside) while trying to slowly acclimate them for eventually living outside.

I finally repotted them yesterday, and the “soil” (basically 100% coco peat) was bone dry, which made sense since I hadn’t watered them. So imagine my surprise when I found one of the sempervivums (circled) looking like it was rotting with black, soggy lower leaves 😢 The roots actually seem fine though?

Anyway, this brings me to sempervivum attempt #3. The first one rotted in the fall. The second got badly sunburned, dramatically dried up, and after I lightly watered it and moved it to shade, I went out of town and we got heavy rain. My dad was pet sitting so I had him check on them and he found the pot holding water at the bottom due to its shape despite having drainage holes and chunky soil. So they basically sat in water and died. (After they died he modified the pot by drilling extra holes so no more pooling. Thanks Dad!)

Here’s to hoping third time’s the charm because this is somehow the one succulent I cannot keep alive 🪦

Soil mixture is mixed in a 5 gallon bucket (with holes drilled in the bottom and on lid to avoid moisture being trapped in) percentages are roughly:

• 30% MG succulent soil
• 30% pumice
• 30% horticultural lava rock
• 10% perlite

All of my other succulents absolutely thrive in this mix.

This is my first order from MCG (Mountain Crest Gardens). I ordered the variety pack (20 succulents, 20 species-1 each). Instead of receiving 20 species I received multiple duplicates. Should I be disappointed? Because I am kinda but I don’t want to make a fuss. Pictures: 1. What I ordered 2. What I got 3. Duplicates circled…. The ones I was really excited about are the ones missing 😭 more than half are duplicates.

ETA: yes I understand that those exact plants are not guaranteed. When you go to make the listing selection it says “20 plants- 20 varieties and 1 of each“ I received 20 plants, less than 20 varieties, multiple duplicates.
