Identification help and a question about my verigated frydek.
Will someone help with the identity of photos 1-5 please. I think I know them but would love confirmation. Also the 6th picture is of a v. Frydek that I grew from a corm, it's leaf has very little green. Could this be a problem or is it a wait and see situation? Thank you all for your help!

Lowe’s clearance
Got this guy at Lowe’s in the clearance section. When I got him under some light, I noticed the undersides turning purple. Is this a Polly, perhaps?
new corm mom
hi everyone. new to plants and new to my alocasia. i got it at trader joe’s and when repotting i found two corms that easily came off. does this set up look ok?
i’m really wanting them to sprout and grow healthy. i know moss will be the best but i dont have any right now.
thoughts on the water in an airtight glass container with grow lights in a warm south facing window to let it root & then transfer to moss?
also open to any alocasia mom plant advice too.
i saw some tiny spots on the mom plant so wiped it with a neem oil and water mixture since they’re so prone to spider mites.
thanks for kindness and advice in advance :)🌱
Talk to me about spider mites
I’ve never had pests before. Last week I noticed spider mites on my frydek and tried not to fully spin out because it feels like a failure on my part. I treated with a neem oil, alcohol, and peppermint Castile soap spray. This morning I noticed some webbing on my old Baltic leaf 😭 picture of my ninja that was next to it that has white dots on it, not all in a clump like my frydek so not sure.
How do I treat them? Do I need to treat all my plants? Should I fully spin out bc I’m easily overwhelmed lol someone talk me off a ledge.
Big beautiful job
This one came in and when I pulled her out of the box I fell in love
When my Melo saw my Silver Dragon’s new leaf, it said ‘hold my beer’ 💚🌗
Gorgeous half moon on my Melo Albo pup 😍
Is my dragon scale a mutant or something?
Is it common from a regular Dragon scale to grow so plenty and messy? There's like 6 flowers at the same time, leaves growing for everywhere and overlapping each other.
Help me rescue my pink dragon alocasia please 🙏🏻
The soil is draining right, it was slightly damp from watering a few days ago underneath but dry on the top. There is a baby leaf growing but all the big leaves have dropped off. The roots appear okay with no sign of root rot.
I have since moved it into the bathroom with gets a lot of light throughout the day and more humidity.
Do I need to do anything else? Help me please 🤣
Proper watering for black velvet pink var
Didn’t expect her to be as small as she is when I picked her up, but still so much lovely!
It’s currently in a fluval perlite wicking system. How much fertiliser should I add to the water, half strength? And if I should top water or just pour into the reservoir?
Would appreciate any tips to help this baby PBV thrive. Thanks!
What are these spots on my alocasia?
Sorry for the bad fotos my camera lens broke yesterday
Can this be saved ?🥺
I just saw it dangling and when I touched it it fell , both leaves are fully white 😔
Alocasia Silver Dragon keeps sacrificing old leaves but hasn't produced a single new one in over a month. Looking for advice.
I'm fairly new to Alocasias and I'm trying to understand whether my plant is behaving normally or if I'm missing something.
I bought this Alocasia Silver Dragon on 31st May. Since then, it has produced a new leaf , but after that it has already started sacrificing another old one and hasn't produced a single new leaf.
Here's the timeline:
Bought: 31st May
Repotted: No, it's still in the original nursery pot and nursery substrate.
Fertilizer: None so far.
Location: Bright indoor window with plenty of indirect light. It gets some gentle morning sun but no harsh afternoon sun.
Watering: I water when the top of the soil begins to dry. The mix seems to retain moisture fairly well.
Humidity: Average indoor humidity (I'm in India).
Initially, I noticed one older leaf slowly yellowing. I assumed it was normal acclimation after bringing it home.
Now another leaf is turning yellow from the center and looks like it's going to be the next one sacrificed.
The rest of the plant still looks healthy and firm. There are no obvious signs of pests, stem rot, or mushy tissue. The corm also feels firm.
Today I gently slid the root ball out of the pot without disturbing it much. The roots are white and seem healthy, and they're wrapping around the outside of the root ball, but the plant doesn't look extremely root-bound to me.
So now I'm confused.
Is this simply an Alocasia cycling old leaves because it's preparing to push new growth?
Or is it likely nutrient deficiency since it's been in the same nursery mix for over a month?
Would you:
Leave it in the nursery pot until it produces a new leaf?
Repot it into a chunky aroid mix (orchid bark, perlite, coco coir/coco peat, etc.)?
Start fertilizing before repotting?
I'm trying to avoid stressing it unnecessarily.
I'd really appreciate any advice from experienced Alocasia growers. Thanks!
