Need help with instagram following in regard to photography
Hello everyone!
I’m getting back into photography after taking nearly a 10-year break to focus on some of my other creative pursuits. Right now, I’m treating it as a hobby, but I’d love to eventually turn it into a side business.
I have a few questions for those of you who have grown a photography presence online:
Is it better to build a strong portfolio first and then start posting consistently on Instagram, or should I start posting now and grow both my portfolio and audience at the same time?
How did you gain your first followers?
Was it through consistent posting, networking, hashtags, reels, collaborations, or something else?
My very first post received a lot of views, but almost no likes or engagement. Is that normal for a new account, and what can I do differently?
I’d really appreciate any advice or lessons you learned when you were first starting out. Thanks in advance!
