Thunderstorm #2 rolling in over Lake Michigan yesterday.
One of the coolest shelf clouds I've seen in a while! RIP to the many trees, cars, and power lines we lost yesterday.
I didn't know bird's nest fungi were a thing!
Crucibulum laeve (common bird's nest fungus). Spotted in a Chicago, Illinois garden the other day.
Stumbled upon these precious, teeny-tiny mushrooms on a walk. Who are they?
Photo taken by myself a few days ago in Illinois, close to Lake Michigan.
These babies were so small that I almost overlooked them! The caps are tiny, no larger than the tip of a pencil's eraser. At first, I thought they were a type of shelf fungi. However, upon closer examination, I saw the tiny little stems. I've been doing some Googling but haven't been able to figure out the species. Any suggestions would be appreciated!
For a moment, it looked like the sky was melting. Mammatus clouds at sunset.
Gold Coast, Bucktown, River North, Rogers Park
So many different shapes in the clouds this AM. So far, I've spotted a an ostrich, the profile of a bearded man wearing a hat, Pluto (the cartoon dog), and a dragon head. What do you see?
By the way, if anyone can explain what exactly caused the clouds to look like this, I'd love to learn more!

I just noticed this and burst out laughing. I don't disagree with the sentiment, but this sign feels like the punchline from an SNL sketch or something.
Damn... 25 minute wait for the Red Line to Howard?
Thankful I made the earlier train.
Choppy seas in Rogers Park this morning.
Looking South from Mahoney-Griffin Beach.
Daily zen. 😌
Lake Michigan is such a great place for cloud-spotting.
Come help clean Jarvis Beach/Park (Griffin Beach) on May 2nd, 8 AM to 1 PM! Because, you know...
