November trip to New Zealand

Howdy y'all. I have the privilege of visiting New Zealand from November 9th (arrival early morning) until November 27. Idea is to fly back on or one day before our flight back from the South Island to Auckland (also where we arrive). Mode of transporation will be a car. Does anyone have a good itinerary for our trip that will cover the (or at least most of) highlights of New Zealand without being on the road every single day? Would love to hear your tips / suggestions!

Wish I lived somewhere else

I am a 27m. Born and raised to middle eastern parents in the Netherlands, currently living in Amsterdam. Have lived in the US for about 1.5 years for a master’s degree and also traveled a lot to North America. I just can’t stop wishing I didn’t live here. I am not religious but from a Muslim background but it’s so hard to develop or grow into a person rather than a background in Europe. It is basically impossible to “outgrow” your roots and become who I truly am. Also in terms of dating, it’s basically impossible here. It was completely different in the US. For once, people didn’t care much about my background but I could finally be my own person. And I notice this always in my interactions with Americans. Of course your background can still be at play with some ignorant people but in the Netherlands it’s just so hard. Also most European cities don’t really have a grind hard mentality like New York with big opportunities in law, finance etc. Sure London is a hub but impossible if you’re Dutch. I really hope I can find a way to fit in more here but it’s really hard
