





Hey HVAC crew, found a bit of a rarity today. It's a direct expansion (DX) AHU setup with a flooded evaporator / hold-back valve system. The valve was defective, so I replaced it. It's got hot gas bypass and liquid injection to control capacity.
It’s pretty wild to see the lengths they went to before variable speed compressors, whether VFD or inverter-driven, became the norm.
Anyway, got it recharged and running. It’ll probably last another 20 years, even if the power bill is going to be through the roof.
