Guanfacine XR (Intuniv)

Stimulants were making my insomnia, sympathetic activation and joint pain worse. So, my dr prescribed guanfacine. I took it for the first time last night and it made me a bit drowsy which was excellent before bed. Overnight my lowest heart rate was 59 according to my Oura ring, which is fine.

I feel fine today. Calm even. My pharmacist told me I don't need to check my blood pressure unless I have symptoms (dizziness, fainting, etc) but I was curious anyway, so I took my BP just now and it's 85/64 with 71bpm. Isn't that too low? I'd read it often takes weeks for people to notice the full effects of guanfacine; so, is my blood pressure going to get even lower? I really feel good, actually.

Now I'm wondering if I should be taking Vyvanse and Guanfacine rather than just one or the other.

Anyway, all insights would be most helpful! Thanks in advance!

Wannabe Machine Knitter has Qs

Hi all!

I'm a machine knitting admirer. I crochet (incl Tunisian), have an ashford lap loom, and sew, but machine knitting looks so delightful. I've been thinking about it for awhile, and want to get into the hobby. Hence, I reached out to a shop that cleans and resells various machines, and got a quote on a Silver Reed SK-700 U and some accessories. I wanted to jump right in with both feet. But then I had this realization: where am I putting this? Is it all going to weigh 100lbs?

I have a tempered glass L-shaped desk upstairs in the office, and it has big metal legs making it quite sturdy, but I'm a bit concerned about the sideways force of the carriage when in motion, as well as if the glass can handle everything, especially if I add on a ribber.

  • Has anyone attached a machine to a glass desk?
  • How much does a metal machine like the SK-700 + ribber weigh?
  • Do you usually keep you machine set up with the ribber attached, or only when ribbing?
  • If you have a universal knitting machine table or the like that you recommend, what is the brand/model? if I have to get another table, I'd prefer something narrow that only fits the machine knitter, as I don't have oodles of space for another table.
  • Is it completely crazy to jump straight into this hobby by getting a SK-700, or should I get something else first? What are your general thoughts on the Sk-700? Is it hard to upkeep?

I'm in Canada.

Thanks in advance!

Photobiomodulation, Vagus Nerve Stim & Dr. Jarred Younger

I'm just a patient - this is purely a post meant to inform - I am not recruiting for anything.

Dr. Jared Younger of the Neuroinflammation, Pain and Fatigue Laboratory at the University of Alabama at Birmingham is affiliated with a presently-recruiting, remote research study on ME/CFS patients (anywhere in the US), by Renegade Research, using photobiomodulation (red and near-infrared light) and vagus nerve stimulation using cutting edge devices. He posted this video 12 days ago, and if I was in the US (I'm in Canada) I would be signing up so fast!

If you want to learn more about what Younger is presently researching, consider subscribing to his youtube channel. There are a few research labs and researchers that are doing really promising research, and Younger (in my opinion) is one of them. This trial is one of a few they're presently recruiting for, another cool thing (for me, at least as a foreigner who can't participate in any of these studies) is that you can give them feedback on what they're up to by commenting on the videos by Younger Labs (on study design, feedback, etc) and they are pretty responsive!!

Posh the best option in Canada?

I'm a total shopaholic but in the last year have significantly changed my aesthetic, and am finally ready to offload a bunch of stuff. Lulu, Toms, Ferragamo, AS98, and on and on. I'd also be willing to sell as lots to resellers, but I've never done that before.

Should I list them on Posh Canada or a different platform?
From a pricing standpoint, is it best to list at lowest price you'd take, and try to get quick offers, or list at a fairer price based on previous sales of those sorts of items? (or smth else?)

Thanks in advance!

5683 BARE SANDALS

TL;DR: these shoes are not only cute, but the most comfortable shoes I've ever owned. My mind is blown. I have immediately ordered them in another colour (soft nappa). Anyone have recommendations for other, similarly wide, cute, brands/lines?

So, I'm new to barefoot shoes. I have significant bunions (esp on my left foot) and I'd love to try to stop their progress or even reverse them.

I stumbled across a cute pair of mary janes ("N5683 BARE SANDALS" by El Naturalista) in a snakeskin printed leather and instantly fell in love with them. My usual size in most things is an EU 40 / US 9.5, but that was seemingly sold out everywhere I looked online (reverse image search). So, having read that you should leave more room in a barefoot shoe for your toes to splay, I ordered a size 41 and crossed my fingers. There was nowhere locally for me to try on a pair (Calgary, Canada).

They arrived, and looked comically big, like clown shoes. I was concerned. Much to my amazement, not only do they fit, but they are the best fitting shoes I've ever owned**.** I'm actually in shock right now.

Have I ever worn properly fitting footwear? I've always blamed my bunions on genetics, but I'm rethinking that now. Maybe I just have wide feet and have never had a wide enough shoe??! I've seen podiatrists. They've seen my shoe choice (I often wear Ecco Soft 7s), and had no issue with that, but in retrospect: the Ecco's are likely not wide enough. Why didn't they say anything?

I put them on and showed my spouse, and he said they looked "cute." I asked if he felt they were clownish, and he said "not at all." As soon as they're on my feet the clown concern disappears.

I recently got some "Correct Toes Original" (toe spacers) in size medium, and they fit in these N5683's without issue. The comfort is unparalleled. I think I actually need to get rid of my entire shoe collection: my entire viewpoint has shifted and a whole world of barefoot shoes has opened up to me. Also, I tested them with my custom orthotics, and they're great with those, too. My personal goal is to continue to do foot exercises (again, not something my podiatrist even mentioned) and improve my walking form, and see if I can strengthen my arch.
