I'm a bit tired of the blonde (pardon the messy hair!)

Help! How do I get my cycle back on track ??

My tank was cycled when I first got my lotl. No ammonia no nitrites and a few nitrates. Recently (after two months) I've been seeing nitrites! (0.2) No ammonia and low nitrates. How do I fix this please??

Do you think she can jump through this little part of the lid ?

My tank lid has this little door on the lid. Do you think she can realistically jump through it ? Should I tape it shut ? (Jodie cameo at the end ❤️)

My tap water PH is 8.1

Should I get RO water or is stability preferable even though it is a rather high measurement ?

Thank you! :)

Do you think it’s possible to connect a chiller to a hangback filterm

Like connecting the "out" tube of the chiller to the filter's inlet strainer ? Or am I being crazy. The flow from the chiller is just very strong !

Thank you to anyone replying !

Restless axolotl ?

I got my axie 3 weeks ago and it’s been going well. The only two things : I've had a little trouble maintaining a good temperature because of a heatwave (the water is currently at 20/21°C, I have ordered a chiller) and I also recently had a nitrite spike (at the max it was 0.15).

Other than that, everything has been going fine. However she's seemed very active, which i know isn’t typical for axolotls. She's pacing her tank, swimming a lot (even against the glass), "playing" in her plants... could this be a sign of stress ? Does she seem okay to you ? Thank you !

My friend’s 14 yo cousin was in charge of his biology class’s axolotls for the holidays...

They’re back to the class now and are apparently fine. But... seriously?

Juvenile eats like tomorrow doesn't exist

Jodie Foster loves to eat. I feed her 2-3 earthworms everyday. I give her some (bite-sized) chunks of worms with tweezers and also add some to her little dish.

I feel like she could eat forever though ? Can’t seem to find any definite overfeeding limit online. What's your opinion ? 👀

Do I have to tub miss girl ?

Jodie Foster has been healthy and thriving ! However, I was badly advised at the pet store and got her the wrong sand (too big).

Do I have to tub her while I change the sand to something more appropriate ? How would you proceed ? Thank you !! :)

Here's my new axo, Jodie Foster !

She's my very first axolotl. I already love her so much she's very silly and friendly

I'm a beginner keeper so if you have any advice/anything you wish you'd have known when you first got your axo, please tell me ! :)

P.S : i'm saying "she" because of her name, but not sure she's a female ! The woman from the petstore didn’t know

Help ! My tap water is terrible

I've had a cycled 150L tank for a while now, but the water is almost dangerously hard because of the terrible tap water where I live. The tap also has nitrates naturally so i can’t bring them down. What should i do ? :(

Is cutting the water with bottled water ok ? What about RO ?
