Our new house as first time home buyers…
EVERYONE IS FINE. My neighbors house fire melted my siding. We just moved in.
All damage is external, my neighbors are all safe as well.
EDIT: We don’t know how it started. It was completely external. I’m not sure what the inside of their house looks like but the garage(the other side of the burnt wall) looked untouched.
We are going to go through our insurance, duh.
My neighbors are cool. I don’t know them but I’m pretty sure this wasn’t caused by their negligence.
Yes, we live in a plastic neighborhood with homes too close together. Guess what? I hate mowing a big lawn and the mortgage was doable. Sue me.
EDIT 2: Okay, that was kind of mean. I’ve had a tough day, alright? Give me some slack. Some of you guys forget that real people(sometimes) are making these posts. Be kind, it costs nothing.
EDIT 3: A lot of people are giving advice to go through my neighbors insurance. My insurance is probably going to try, but it doesn’t look like it’s going to happen because it’s not their fault.
Some people have told me to sue my neighbors. I guess I could if i was a total POS but it would likely end with more court/lawyer fees than its worth, not to mention the being a total POS part. I have incredible insurance and it’s worth a small price increase to have this fixed quickly and easily. Thank you for the advice though!
