Magnetic base antenna left residue on paint
I've been using one of these magnetic base antennas that have a rubber cover on my trunk. Recently I did a wash which I always remove it prior, but noticed this dark, brownish residue it left. I've tried different things like polish, clay and even gently with isopropyl alcohol, but nothing has worked. Couple of questions-
Could this have been some sort of chemical reaction from the rubber cover?
Being that nothing I've tried has worked, is this embedded under the clear coat?
Is there anything else I can try that doesn't have to repaint?
