Built a 3D model showing why an eclipse "occurs in" a nakshatra, and why the janma, anujanma & trijanma stars are the affected ones
The link directly opens paused at the Aug 28 lunar eclipse, where the Moon is standing in Shatabhisha nakshatra, so that's the eclipse's janma star (red), and counting in cycles of 9, Ardra and Swati occupy the same seat in the next cycles (gold). Wanted to actually see the traditional rule instead of just reading it. I also didn't know about the 5.1 degree tilt of the moon and wondered why every new/full moon are not eclipses, so that was another interesting learning for myself. Thought i d share this here, as a long time lurker of content.
