[REQ/VENT] Wide fit isn't wide enough... help?
I'm really struggling to find shoes that fit me. At this point I've accepted that they probably won't be pretty because I'm apparently gargantuan, but I'd just love a pair that don't hurt while I'm wearing them and won't wait until I take them off before they start hurting.
So far I've tried:
Men's Nike (regular)
Men's New Balance (4E wide)
Men's Skechers (extra wide)
Women's Hoka (wide fit)
I got the Hokas today and was so excited because I'd seen them recommended so much in this sub. They were actually pretty too, which feels like a miracle for wide-fit shoes.
Lo and behold... they were still ridiculously narrow.
One pair was the Transporter 2s, and my feet looked like hooves. I was bursting out through the laces. I never even thought I had particularly high-volume feet, but I guess I have a new foot related complex now.
I'm honestly at a loss for how to find shoes now. I can't trust websites that say "wide fit" because every brand seems to have a completely different idea of what "wide" means, and I can't seem to find anyone on this sub whose feet are wide in the same way as mine.
Does anyone have recommendations for shoes that are actually wide? Bonus if they're available for women, but at this point I'll wear whatever doesn't make my feet feel like they're being shrink-wrapped.
Also... how is there not one universally agreed-upon "actually wide" shoe brand? Surely I can't be the only person out here built like a Hobbit.
