What's the most valuable item youve ever found metal detecting?

I've been metal detecting for a few months now and I found my first piece of jewelry the other day. It was a silver ring.

The other day when I was metal detecting, someone came up to me to see what I was doing. He said that he was also into metal detecting and told me he's been doing it for over 10 years. We talked about stuff we had found and I asked him what he would do with anything of value. He said every once in a while he would go to a precious metals buyer and cash in his loot. His last cash in earned him $1500.

What's your biggest cash in or what was the most valuable single item you ever found?

Been metal detecting about a total of 5 hours with my new Minelab Xterra Pro.

Bought my new Minelab Xterra pro 2 months ago but got a little frustrated with using it. It sat in my garage for about 2 weeks when I decided to watch you tube videos on how to use the Xterra Pro. It worked. I work full time so Ive been going after work for about a half an hour each day. I'm no pro, but I believe I got the jest of it.

So I bought a 2022 Silverado 1500 3.0 Duramax brand new and I have 90,000 miles on it and its been awesome. I've pounded this truck into the ground and it's still standing. I've done more stuff in my life since I bought this truck because of this truck and where it's able to take me.

The thing that makes me nervous is all the hate it gets from a lot of people. One of the reasons I went with diesel is because supposedly the engines last longer and I don't plan on buying a new truck anytime soon.

Also, I read a lot of crticism about the truck but I havent really seen much proof that warrants that criticsm.

Is there anybody out there with nightmare stories about the 3.0 Duramax.

I bought a 2022 Chevy Silverado 1500 3.0 Duramax brand new. As you know, it wasnt cheap. What I really wanted was a 2500, but I didn't want the $1000 payment every month.

So, after about a year, I was with my son looking for a car when I saw a 2021 Chevy Silverado 2500 sitting on a used car lot. It had 30,000 miles and was in near perfect shape. When I saw the sticker price, I saw that if I had bought used, I could've gotten what I wanted, paid less, have a lower payment every month and have a truck with more options.

I'm thinking next time I'm going used. Especially with diesel because I know that if you take care of oil changes and maintenance, a diesel can last over 200,000 miles, if not 300000 mile.

Is it worth all the extra money you're gonna spend just so you can say you bought it new. I'm not too sure it is.
