Advice on improving my chances of getting my student visa approved?

Hi everyone,
I’m planning to apply for masters in Australia for feb 2027 intake, and I’ve been seeing quite a few posts about visa refusals recently. Honestly, it’s making me a little anxious about my own application.
For those who have recently had their visa approved, especially if you applied during the current period, what do you think helped your application?

I’d really appreciate advice on:
What documents/financial evidence are important
Common mistakes that could lead to a refusal
Anything you wish you had known before applying

i’ve also heard that if your bachelors course does not match with your masters or if it is not convincing enough then your chances of visa refusal is more.

Would really appreciate any advice from people who have recently gone through the process. Thank you!
