What is my doctor looking for if they are going to check for things like allergy cells in my endoscopy?
Hi, I 17F am getting an endoscopy soon for burning and gnawing pain in my stomach, pills and some foods feeling like they get stuck in my esophogus or scratched it, and other acid-reflux related symptoms. My doctor mentioned that they will take biopsies to look for things such as allergy cells. I'm just curious about how the allergy cells could cause symptoms and what it would signify if they were present. I am not asking for medical advice. I am just curious about the allergy cells and I'm having trouble finding out about it online.
