Hi, I’m a licensed cosmetologist in my state, which also covers esthetics. I haven’t done a facial since school 8 years ago, and my boss is letting me begin transitioning to adding facials/skin services at the salon.

I’m taking an intro class with Circadia this week. It’s been so long, I’ve forgotten the basic steps to a facial. I’m unsure if the class will cover this or brand basics, but I’m wanting more education.

As an esthetician, what is your most popular service? How long should we block out for a typical service? I’m interested in offering express options, budget friendly, as my boss began offering microneedling and dermaplaning months ago and there wasn’t really any interest. Are there favorite estheticians I should follow online? I’d love any advice you can throw my way!

Are there any cool salons in the area?

I’m a hairstylist planning on living in Tucson in the near future. Whats the hair salon scene like in Tucson/surrounding areas? I’m not a fully alt stylist, but definitely not a blonde and extensions only salon kinda gal.

I have a few other career related questions; if there are any hairstylists in the group I’d love to pick your brain.

Hi! First, I’m a stylist and my coworker and I trade services.

I like to get Keratin Complex’s NKST treatment. I haven’t done one since I switched my color, I’ve now got some bleached-out pieces with Danger Jones on top.

Should I have my color done first; then wait a week or two for the Keratin? What would you do? I know it’s probably safe to do the same day, since it’s safe to do with lightener and other types of color same day. But I’m curious about how it affects direct dyes, anybody have experience with this?

I’ve also considered doing the Keratin first, but don’t want to bleach out the treatment during my touch-up either.

I’ve been in the industry 7 years. Lately, I’m questioning every haircut. It’s like I’ve forgotten how to layer outside of one or two hairstyles. I’m decent at cutting, but I’m more confident with corrective color.

Has anyone else ever felt this way? I’ve gotten stagnant, I know I need education. Unfortunately, I’m unable to travel out of town for education. I think I just need a refresher on the angles for different requests. To the old trusty Milady textbook I go. 🫡

I don’t do weddings often, only for special clients. I’m doing one this weekend, 6 people by myself. Pretty simple, half updo braid with waves for everyone except the bride.

It’s forecasted to rain, we’re in GA. I’ve never had to deal with this! Luckily bride’s hair is silky, no curl. Bridal party members have wavy hair. Everyone’s hair is thick as hell.

I know I’m over thinking things here. But does anybody have any tips?

The ceremony is planned for outside but there are arrangements for indoors if needed. I’m worried that the rain will begin during outside pictures and I will need to restyle.
