Where is the right place to do this?

Hello Tucson!

I'm not trying to sell anything here, I just need some solid, specific advice about WHERE I can go to sell something. Here's the story:

My husband and I moved from Boston to a house in Tucson a couple of years ago. The former house owner's wife is an artist and the walls of the house were covered in her collection of art. But there was ONE painting that she bought (that she apparently paid a lot of money for) that her husband wouldn't allow in the house. When they moved out, they left it here. Currently its sitting in our carport. It's quite an unusual piece, not everyone's cup of tea. I totally understand where the husband was coming from.
A fun thing we do is when people come over is we bring them out to see it. Everyone has a different reaction to it. It's signed by the artist, James W. Johnson (https://james-w-johnson.pixels.com/). And it's large, several feet tall and wide, I'll probably need to borrow a truck to move it.
I'd really love to sell this piece of art. If anyone here knows of a place where I can bring it to sell, or has any ideas, I'd REALLY appreciate it.

Also, if you'd like me to post a picture of the painting, let me know.

Thanks for listening.

Seeking: Massive pan of tres leches cake

Hello, I’m looking to get tres leches cake for a big party. Current plan is to order a handful from Suspiros, but was curious if anyone was aware of place that sold it in bigger pans. I love the ones I pans because they hold more liquid and just have frosting on top. Happy for any recs or if Suspiros is best choice!

Nissan Technician Strike

Just got called today to reschedule my Maintenance for Life appt. Apparently, the technicians at Nissan have gone on strike. The support that handled my rescheduling isn't sure when it'll stop but they're rescheduling into next week anyways.

So if you have a maintenance or repair appointment with Jim Click Nissan in the Automall, best to call and check if your appointment is still on or is affected by the strike.

I don't know any further details. I was just woken up by the call.

Best wishes, all!

The Hermitage No-Kill Cat Shelter here in town launched a kitten cam about a month ago and they added a new feed showing their CH (aka Wobbly Cat Syndrome) kittens.

Office Chair Repair? Any professionals?

Does anyone know of a professional who repairs office chairs?
I have many chairs that need armrests replaced, cylinders replaced, fabric cleaned, and other minor repairs.
Thanks.

FatNoodle Dupe?

I’m missing FatNoodle a bit right now and have a strong craving for a good ramen burger. Does anyone know if there’s a similar place in the area?

American Atomics Info

Looking for memories of the 1979 American Atomics plant leak (and a salvaged factory item!)

Hi everyone! My husband and his siblings grew up in the neighborhood right near the old American Atomics Corporation plant on Plumer Ave and attended St. Ambrose back in the 1970s.

We recently dug out a piece of authentic industrial history from our storage: a 1970s factory item salvaged directly from the plant itself. It is clearly stamped with the "American Atomics" logo. (Now that I'm looking closely at it, it might actually be one of their self-luminous exit signs/units rather than a wall clock).

Does anyone here have family or old neighbors who remember the 1979 school boycotts, the radioactive chocolate cake incident, or the National Guard coming into the neighborhood? We would love to hear your stories or connect with any local historians tracking artifacts from this specific event!

CNN with the super clickbait headline

From the beginning of the article:

Human remains have been found in a desert area near West Ajo Way and South La Cholla Boulevard in Arizona, approximately 15 miles from the home of Nancy Guthrie, according to the Pima County Sheriff’s Department.

Authorities said there is no indication “at this time” that the remains, which appear to have been at the location for an extended period of time, are connected to the Nancy Guthrie investigation.

Hidden Graffiti in Plain Sight

Very sneaky, well done!

I saw this on the corner of Swan and Speedway. It looks like someone added their artwork over part of an existing commercial mural and blended it in so well that the average person probably would not notice.

But now that I have posted this, I guess it is no longer a hidden piece of graffiti.

Rocket launch should be visible from Tucson at 8:45ish tonight (I think)

Go for launch at 8:45 tonight. Based on past launches I've watched, this isn't quite in the sweet spot to view it from Tucson, but I think it should still be visible. Please weigh in if you know more than I do

Apple Cactus Blooms

I was lucky enough to catch the blooms on my neighbor's Peruvian Apple Cactus this morning around 8am. By noon, they had closed. In Tucson, beauty is fleeting.
