Gespot in het noorden van België, hoop dat dat is toegestaan. Deze komt regelmatig een kijkje nemen in mijn tuin. Laat soms poep achter met pitjes erin. De pergola waar hij in klimt hangt vol met druiven. Wijst op een boommarter? Maar hij heeft een donkere staartpunt, dat wijst weer op een hermelijn.
Leuk projectje voor tussendoor, dacht ik. Het einde (van het ontverven) is eindelijk in zicht.. had ik dit slimmer aan kunnen pakken? En ik wil gaan vernissen, tips om dat in een keer goed te doen?
Werkwijze:
Gel gesmeerd en afgedekt met folie
Na 15 minuten de verf weggeschraapt
Schuurmachine gebruikt
Voor de hoekjes en inhammen een boor met staalborstel gebruikt (voorzichtig)
Lastigste hoekjes met de hand geschuurd
Restjes verf in putjes en kiertjes met een hobby mesje eruit gehaald
Found this in a second hand store for 40 euros. It's got the initials DVR on it. It's in my dark living room now and I love it! My mom told me that it was a common practice back then for girls age 10-15 to make a sampler, as proof of their patience and eye for detail. She said it must have been a lot of work.
Does anyone recognize the two headed dragon/eagle/bird?
Weird to think this piece has seen the invention of sewing machines, safety pins, flush toilets, barbed wire, ballpoint pens, zippers, plastic, vacuums.. and so much more.
I decided to make plant labels for the plants in my front yard! Some information:
- the labels in red are for plants that are non native to Belgium, according to waarnemingen.be (observation.org). The labels in black are for plants that are native.
- I made the labels from cans (sinas, cola, ice tea). Then used metal letter stamps to hammer the letters into the labels. Then traced the letters with UV resistant ink.
- For holding the labels, I used half a bamboo skewer. I cut the top 3 cm of the skewer in half, lengthwise. Slid in the label and turned it so that it stays stuck. We'll have to see how well the skewers hold up.
Not all of the plants have been labelled yet. I did this to entertain and educate myself, but also others!
