Has anyone had good experiences with black and blue cohosh or castor oil?

My midwife has recommended black and blue cohosh herbs or castor oil to possibly get labor started.
Google has fairly negative things to say about both.

I’m nearly 42 weeks and not wanting to go beyond that, I’m honestly feeling so defeated every morning I wake up not in labor.

For reference I’ve tried: membrane sweep, acupuncture, chiropractor, prenatal massage, pedicure, red raspberry leaf tea (drink it every day), gentle birth tincture (took this for weeks and ran out), bouncing on the ball, miles circuit, pumping 2-3 times a day, relaxing, walking, baths, etc.

I feel like I’ve pretty much run out of the non invasive things to try.

My first baby was 42+2 induction, second was spontaneous at 36 weeks. I truly cannot believe I’m nearly back at 42 weeks with my third.

Is it too late to switch to homebirth?

For context I’m in my third trimester.

My last two children I have planned homebirths but one was way overdue and was induced, the next came too early at 36 weeks. Aside from the odd timing of them both were fine and healthy no complications.

This time I chose OB prenatal care pretty much only because insurance covers it and money is much tighter this time.

However, I’ve had a few things that I dislike in their care and I’m afraid it’ll get worse the further along I get.

Should I try for another homebirth and see if any midwives are even available???

Wearable Glucose Monitor

Has anyone gone the route of the wearable glucose monitor? CGM?

If so did your OB write you a prescription or did you pay out of pocket?

It seems like the best option rather than checking and finger pricking 80 times a day.
