Looking for suggestions/advice for a Minecraft Roleplay
Hello, all.
I'm currently attempting to create a Minecraft Roleplay but am having trouble on where to get started. I'm looking for some advice or suggestions that can help me. Being this is THE Minecraft Roleplay subreddit I figured to ask here first. I'm a little scared this kind of post won't be allowed on r/Minecraft.
I've been roleplaying in Minecraft for, like, 10 years. Way back then, there were services that allowed for quick and easy joining of various hosted worlds. They're all gone now, and no replacements have been made. I've grown up used to a specific way of roleplay and the base game features do not satisfy my needs.
I mainly have 3 issues now:
- I want players to be able to join using whatever name they wish, without being forced to use their Xbox/Microsoft username. This is to ensure immersion, and it is what I've grown up used to since you didn't need to sign into Xbox to play with people using the services I talked about earlier.
- In the past, the more people that joined, the laggier the worlds we roleplayed in would become. We used to roleplay on Bedrock, with our phones, but have considered switching to Java now that, at least most of us, have computers. Java is a lot more complex than what I'm used to and so I'm unsure if I want to follow through with the transition or stay on Bedrock and find other ways it can be optimized.
- And my last issue is about what version to mainly use. Between Java or Bedrock. I'm used to Bedrock, but it's definitely pissed me off a few times and I rather not have the state of my worlds be left up to fate. Though I'm willing to follow through with whatever version makes hosting a world easier granted they also resolve the above issues.
I've tried hosting on Bedrock through Xbox, Realms, and used add-ons to try and resolve the above issues. No luck. I'm looking for any leads; anything. I'll be willing to also talk about the roleplay in detail if anyone is interested.
