I often hear “openings don’t matter below X rating,” but at some point repertoire work becomes important. When do you think that transition happens, and what should a lower-rated player focus on instead?

I have just completed my BA in English and am planning to move to Dhaka. I would like to find a job at a private school as an English teacher while preparing for a government job. What is the salary like? I have moderate English speaking skill. Can I use it to secure a good job for the time being?
