Having an anxiety attack over mixed-gender room-sharing
I'm new to this company. I haven't even been here for 6 months. I'm still a probi, and this company is a small one. Hindi siya startup, pero it's small. We handle events most of the time, and for events in distant places, the management would avail an AirBnB and all employees share that same AirBnB.
I thought I misunderstood something when a female coworker told a male coworker to wake her up if she slept through her alarm. Nagulat ako they share the same AirBnB/room. It turned out that all employees share the same bedroom. When I saw a picture of the AirBnB they recently availed, it was just a small room with only one double bed and a sofa, and a bathroom meant for one person. Okay lang sa akin kung magkasama lang ang mga babae, pero kasama rin ang lalaki tapos cramped kami lahat sa iisang room?
How can I say I want to avail my own room without seeming entitled if this is the norm here? Baka sabihin nila na maarte ako, pero I am severely uncomfortable sharing a room with people who aren't my close friends or family.
Hindi ba parang ang panget kung mag-lalabas ng pera ang management para lang sa akin dahil gusto ko mag-solo? Sabihin nila wala akong pakikisama, eh pero ayoko talaga sa ganung arrangement.
I'm new to the corporate world, so I'd rather not go job hopping, but this got me second-guessing my stay in this company.
