Deadhouse Gates - You Guys Were Right

About a month ago, I posted about how dreadful Gardens of the Moon was. And how I wanted to give up on a dry, and dreadful series. Most of you said to give Deadhouse Gates a try first before I decided yay or nay on the series.

Well, you guys were right!

I’m almost at the midway point, and I am hooked! The writing is so much better - it is fluid, it is funny and perspective, and damn it, even the character development is leagues better!

I’m really enjoying the new characters like Felisin, Baudin, Kulp, Duiker, etc. And I absolutely gasped when the new characters met up with old ones; they finally converge!

To all those that said to give Deadhouse Gates a try - thank you. I am convinced. I will continue this series. And can’t wait to finish Deadhouse Gates.

And to all those in doubt like I was, Deadhouse Gates, baby, don’t stop. Keep pushing. It’s sooooo good. The Whirlwind awaits you too.

Hood’s Breath! Let’s goooo!

Deadhouse Gates - Yay or Nay?

Guys, help me. I am in indecisive pain.

I have about 80 more pages left of Gardens of the Moon. And I am torn.

At this point, I feel like I can leave this series behind. And put it to rest. Nice meeting you Captain Paran; Whiskeyjack; Lorn; Kruppe. Goodbye.

But a tiny part of me wants to believe there’s potential here. And I just need to push through the tortuous pain. I am 85% of the way through Gardens, and I’m still mildly confused about the lore, politics, and just about everything else.

Does this series get better? Share some of your thoughts, fellow Malazan Book readers.

I’m going to decide whether to get Book 2 in the next few days.
