Looking to get another pack, any recs?

Hello!

I’m looking to pick up another pack or two at the end of this week since there’s a sale. Right now I have:

-City Living
-Island Living
-Cottage Living
-Discover University
-Adventure Awaits
-Growing Together
-Life & Death
-For Rent
-Businesses and Hobbies
-Get Together
-Cats and Dogs
-High School Years
-Seasons

I also have:
-Parenthood
-Laundry Day
-And a bunch of kits/ clutter packs

These are the current options I might want to pick up: Snowy Escape, Get Famous, Get to Work, Wedding Stories, Werewolves…

My style of gameplay is mostly rotational with families. I have multiple family households I rotate through every week. I really enjoy family gameplay and am pretty invested in all of my households and their careers, schooling and skill building. I do have some households with single sims, too. If that gets overwhelming I tend to take breaks and get really into building & decorating.

I do love packs that flesh out the gameplay but also like packs with solid build/ buy and CAS.

I also play with zero mods or CC

If you guys have any recs for me (even ones I didn’t list) pls send them my way. Thank you so much!!!

Wedding looking like a funeral

An absolutely stunning event… until it started raining, they all switched to their bathing suits, took their umbrellas out and refused any actual seating instead opting for standing in the ocean.

Love it! They do say rain on your wedding day is good luck, so…

Idk guys… do you think he’s currently in turmoil?

My womanizer sim got cheated on, obviously cannot handle it (but can cheat on others just fine). He’s currently coping by making out with a hottie in Sulani.

Some men ain’t shit in real life or the sims 😭😭😭

Little Edith ruined girls night!

I finally got the life and death EP and Edith, the ghost child that haunts you through the TV, crashed my love island watch party. Every girl just out for the count 😭

I play on PS5, game is now crashing after August patch update

Last night I tried to play and unfortunately downloaded the latest update. When I loaded into the last household I played, it let me play for about 20-30 min and then it’d crash. It’d happen not long after I went into CAS. It happened 3 times in a row and I kept getting the “something went wrong with this game or app”. Each time it’d crash even earlier than before. I eventually just gave up. My game would sometimes crash but every now and then it was never a constant thing. Never within the same time span or the same day. I feel like it must have something to do with the latest update. 🥲

I’m afraid since I’m not seeing any posts about it that they’ll just ignore it if it is a glitch. My save file is also pretty small (I also have just one). I only have 34 Sims altogether and if a lot isn’t being used it’s usually empty. So I don’t think it’s save bloat. Any troubleshooting tips? Anyone else specifically on console having this issue?. Lmk!!!

Get Together vs. Discover University

Debating what my next pack should be. For context I play with all kinds of sims! Families, young adult sims, teens, etc.

I feel like university would be cool and beneficial to my gameplay and storylines, however, I’ve heard that getting a degree is very much a grind. I do like that my sims could earn more. Also, is there a college roommate feature? That could be nice.

Get Together seems fun altogether, and obviously people rave about it.

Build/ buy and CAS are pretty important to me too but I know both these packs are a bit older.

Let me know your thoughts and thank you!

Edit: I also play on console, so no mods unfortunately.

Are any of the stuff packs truly worth it?

I’ve been going back and forth on maybe picking one or two up when they’re on sale. Here’s a few I’m thinking about:

-Movie hangout
-Paranormal stuff
-Laundry day
-Home chef hustle

Do any of these really add any substance to your game? Any you genuinely like even if they’re not listed on here? I have around 8 packs so gameplay is definitely not lacking at all, but I always scroll by these and think if they’re actually worth it. I know it’s mostly about extra items to play with but still.

Let me know your thoughts and thank you! 🫶🏼

First time I got this phone call!

My heart is bursting!!!! Amelia and Noah are a new couple, and I’m already so invested in their love story. This game can be so cute sometimes.

Sim’s hubby died by meteor. She’s now sobbing hysterically in the shower.

Going to be fully honest… I was over her husband. He would flirt with her friends and even her daughter so I pretty much had no choice. For two days I kept making him look through that damn telescope until it FINALLY happened. THANK GOD. Now I’m picking up the pieces and lmfaoooooo I’m kind of sad too bc I’ve never seen my sim sob in the shower like this 😭😭😭😭

Anyways, RIP Wesley! You sucked!

Recently got Lovestruck & High School Years

And I am in LOVE! I did a lot of research about these two packs and saw a lot of negativity around them. I want to start off by saying, everyone is entitled to their opinion. I totally understand how buggy these packs might have been when they first released and how that impacted people’s opinions on them. I also know that a lot of this should’ve been part of the base game. I wish S4 base game was much more fleshed out and it’s a shame it’s not.

For more context, I play a lot with families, couples and teens. Both packs have fleshed out a lot of the interactions, storylines, etc. in my overall gameplay.

High School Years: My teen sims finally feel like they have social lives! I used to like playing as teens but got bored so easily. Felt like they were always in the house, found it difficult to come across other teens in the game, and just never found it quite as fulfilling as playing with my young adult/ adult sims. Now my teen sims meet so many different teens in school, extracurriculars and at ThriftTea. The boardwalk is also so beautiful, I love having my teen sims hangout there with their friends or dates after school. I also have Parenthood so it really just rounds out well with HSY.

Classes are fine, I don’t find it quite as annoying as others might. Picking grades up feels a bit harder, too, so I like the option of being able to do extra credit. As for the build/ buy and CAS… CHEF’S KISS!!!!! It’s incredible and some of The Sims best. The Prom every weekend is a bit annoying, but it DOES help with my rotational gameplay. I get the chance to take my other teens in other households to prom, too. It’s just a really great pack for how I play and I am so happy I have it now. A complaint I also saw was how people hated how “random” the teens that showed up at school were. To avoid this, I made my own teen townies in CAS and deleted all the random, generated ones. Now the same friends my sims have go to school with them every day.

Lovestruck: Gone are the days where you date/ marry a sim, stop interacting with them, and the romance bar stays exactly the same. I love how much work it takes now to keep their bond strong. One of my sims had two crushes, made it much further with one, and the romance bar with the other faded. WHICH IS WHAT SHOULD HAPPEN!!! 😭 It does take more work to keep relationships going, if you don’t like that, I get it but I really do. I love the new dates, new interactions, etc. My sims can cuddle in bed now while sleeping, finally. It’s just the cutest pack. The build/ buy is also gorgeous and so is the CAS.

I just wanted to add my two cents and share my personal experience if anyone that doesn’t have these packs is thinking about getting them but is a bit hesitant. Sorry if this is long!!!!
