Ethernet speed stuck at 100 Mbps on Gigabyte B460M D2VX SI (Realtek GbE) after reinstalling drivers offline. Any fix?
Hi everyone,
I'm having an issue where my PC's Ethernet connection is stuck at 100 Mbps instead of 1.0 Gbps.
This happened once before, but updating the driver fixed it back then, and it ran fine until now. Today the issue came back.
Here is what I've tried so far:
Followed the offline driver reinstallation guide: downloaded the official Realtek LAN driver directly from Gigabyte's support page for my motherboard (Gigabyte B460M D2VX SI).
Unplugged the LAN cable and disabled Wi-Fi completely.
Uninstalled the old driver via Device Manager (checked "Delete the driver software for this device").
Restarted the PC (still offline) and installed the downloaded official driver.
Reconnected the cable.
Unfortunately, it's still stuck at 100 Mbps. My NIC is a Realtek Gaming GbE Family Controller, which definitely supports 1 Gbps.
Has anyone encountered this issue on Gigabyte boards or Realtek GbE controllers? Could this be purely a hardware issue (damaged cable/pins) or is there another Windows / BIOS setting I might have missed?
Thanks in advance!
