Ich suche gerade auf den einschlägigen Portalen nach einem zweiten Paar Wellensittiche, da ich meinen zwei Süßen gerne einen größeren Schwarm bieten möchte. Dabei bin ich auf eine Anzeige gestoßen, in der ein Pärchen inklusive ihrer vier Küken verkauft werden.

Ich habe zwar noch keine direkten Erfahrungen mit Welli-Küken, allerdings habe ich schon Wachteln und Tauben notversorgt inkl. sondieren und habe genug Zeit um mich den Babys zu widmen. Es gäbe wohl schlechtere Plätze, um die kleine Familie unterzubringen, also habe ich den Leuten geschrieben. Allerdings habe ich trotz googeln und aktuell gesendeten Bildern nicht abschätzen können, wie alt die Kleinen sind, also habe ich gefragt.

Die vier Küken sollen wohl gerade sechs Wochen alt sein. Die Eltern sollen sie wohl auch nicht rupfen (das bezweifle ich) und laut Besitzer wäre es normal, dass sechs Wochen alte Küken so aussehen (das bezweifle ich stark).

Hat das schonmal jemand gesehen und kann das jemand einordnen? ich weiß prinzipiell, dass ich den Verkäufer sowohl beim Portal als auch idealerweise beim zuständigen Vetamt melden sollte und die Tiere definitiv nicht kaufen sollte, allerdings mache ich mir gleichzeitig auch Sorgen, dass die sonst in ein absolut ungeeignetes Zuhause kommen oder sogar schlimmer.

Hat jemand einen Rat für mich?

Not looking for medical advice, and also not pertaining to one of my budgies (yet?), so I hope this post is allowed. I'm not from the US, but from Germany.

I am currently looking for a second pair of budgies and I found one listing that sold a pair with four babies. While I don't have experience with budgie chicks as of right now, I have had to care for injured pigeons and quails before, including giving meds and tube-feeding, so I feel like I'm more qualified that the average person to take on a pair with chicks.

I texted with the seller and also tried to google how chicks develop over the course of the first month or so, and couldn't figure out how old they were because they just ... Didn't look right? I then asked them, and they told me that the chicks are six weeks old right now. They also said that the state of their feathers are normal and that they grow them over time, which... Yes, but not like this. They also said that their parents aren't plucking their feathers either.

So, my question is - has anyone experienced this? I know that the "correct" course of action SHOULD be to drop the seller immediately and not buy this little family, but I fear that someone else with no experience at all might buy them and that could harm the chicks as well. So now I'm contemplating what to do and I'd love some advice from more experienced budgie keepers.
