Injections

I wouldn’t mind a little help with understanding if HRT is working on me like I want.
I had been applying Estreva gel (about 4 to 6 doses a day) for about 14 days, during which I noticed a clear reduction in spontaneous erections, breast bud sensitivity (with some full feeling) better skin too (so almost all awaited effects).
I then made the choice to switch to injections.
Seven days ago in the morning I injected 8mg of Estradiol Enanthate (EEn) from Astrovials in my thigh. I used a 27G 1ml 7mm long needle so I’m doubtful it was actually intra-muscular, it was more likely subcutaneous.
My thigh started to feel sore after about 24 hours, and went on being sore until 72 hours. During that time, I slowly decreased the number of Estreva doses I was taking (to compensate for the injection).
Today and since yesterday (the day after which I fully stopped Estreva) I noticed a noticeable decrease in breast bud sensitivity and breast fullness, as well as the return of spontaneous erections and a sort of surge in libido.
It feels to me like the injection didn’t work properly?
Following my current regimen I did a 4mg injection this morning with the same type of needle, in my abdomen and making sure this time it was subcutaenous with the proper technique since I don’t have longer needles.
So as a summary I took…
- Day 1-14 : 4 to 6 doses of Estreva
- Day 14 : 8mg EEn subcutaneous
- Day 15-20 : gradually 4 to 1 dose of Estreva
- Day 21 : 4mg EEn subcutaneous
Is it possible or likely that EEn doesn’t work well with my body? I don’t understand why I lost the feelings I felt after switching to injections, as I thought they would provide higher and stabler levels?
