MPG report

I led a neighbor on their first dual sport ride with their new to them KLX230. We did some pavement to some gravel, then a bit of “light trails” which is actually a road that’s just not cared for and would rather not take anything besides a truck/suv that’s either 4x4 or at least locked. I filled up after 58mi and it took barely over 1gal. That’s the best I’ve gotten since I brought it home bone stock brand new.

Generally I am switching to reserve around 70mi.
Turns out my wrist IS the biggest economy killer 🤪

I have a 130 rear knobby, 14/48 (IIRC) but otherwise stock motor/carb - nothing else changed or removed besides bar risers.

Exhaust note 🎵

At the convenience store and I get back in my 99 with 4.0 as this guy is walking past the side of my Jeep. He’s not looking at the Jeep, eyes forward, and I crank it over. It immediately fires up bc it (almost) always does and he stops in his tracks, whips his head around and looks at me, then the Jeep, then me again. He makes that “hell yeah” face with a head nod and gives me the 🤘

I had the cat stolen years back so I welded in a cheeeaaap drop shipped cat along with a cherry bomb glass pack that my old coworker gave me.

Day made.

99 alarm/horn randomly going off

I have never had a fob for this Jeep. I’ve owned the vehicle for prob 5 years and never thought about an alarm even once.

This morning I was out on my motorcycle enjoying the morning. Well when I get back my wife tells me “your Jeep alarm went off. I couldn’t get it to stop so me and the neighbor disconnected the battery”

She said it stopped briefly but then came right back on. Even more weird is she sent me a snap and it was like the horn was just blaring not doing a weewoooweewooowawawawa or nothing.

Ok now that I’m writing this I’m remembering that my left blinker started doing a fast blink like a bulb was out even though they’re all working. This is starting to sound like an issue in my MFS or steering wheel 😑

AC compressor replacement

Technically an install…

How long is too long for the system to sit open (without a compressor installed)?

Planning to buy and install new compressor then charge system but curious if there’s other items I should address instead of just hoping for the best.
