Do not register your kindle if You add .mobi via cable and highlight a lot!

Just some advice.

If You have used .mobi files on Your older, unregistered kindle device and added Your files via cable - do not register to your amazon account!

I recently bought kindle oasis 3, I jailbroke it, added all my books with many highlights from my old kindle. I decided to register to my account just to have those few books I once bought there.

Well, that was a mistake.

After that, all my highlights and progress on my old .mobi files were wiped!

I deregistered my kindle instantly - amazon wiped all files from my document folder! Even the ones that I added manually, and it deleted my files for jailbreaking (KUAL and koreader folder).

I had to add those manually again and copy all my books again, luckily everything works and I have my highlights back, but that was unnecessarily stressful. I do not recommend!

is there a way to remove pop-ups to register to amazon account on jailbroken oasis 3?

I have jailbroken kindle oasis 3, I don't want to register to my amazon account (many reasons), but I keep getting those annoying notifications that "cloud is not available" and that I must register every time I go to my library.

Is there a way to remove that somehow?

Downgrading firmware PW2 from 5.12.2.2 to 5.4.3.2

To jailbreak my Kindle PW2 a few days ago I had to update my Kindle from 5.4.3.2 to 5.12.2 .
I did a succesfull jailbreak, but I do loathe the UI and the look on the newer Kinlde firmware. I would really like to go back to my old firmware - 5.4.3.2 (or the later one that looked the same like 5.6.5)

I have read that technically it might possible, but is it recommended to go so much lower?
Will I mess up my device?

koreader crashes and adds new file

I did a jailbreak today in my PW2 without problems, but now my Koreader crashes. It starts lagging and then kindle reboots itself and I am left with a new file (as seen in the picture)

koreader also sometimes just freezes and then unfreezes after a few minutes and does some glitch, then it works again for a second and freezes again

what could be a problem? how could I fix it?

importing highlights - kindle to koreader

I just did a jailbreak on my kindle PW2 mainly to get dark mode,

on kindle software I was reading in .mobi and I was doing a lot of highlights. I would love to import those highlights to the same book in .epub format that I now read in on Koreader

Is this somehow possible?maybe via Calibre?

jailbreak - firmware 5.4.3.2 - Paperwhite 2

hi,
I have an old Paperwhite2 with original software. I never registered it, had it on airplane mode since 2013 and I just put mobi files in the folder on my computer.

I would like to do jailbreak, but I found most instructions on much, much older firmware and I am not sure if it would work the same on my device.

Does anyone have tips on jailbreaking firmware 5.4.3.2 or some as old as mine?
