5 months arkpro ultra disappointment!
Purchased mine at launch from olight with really high hopes.
Since the first week and many emails, my laser has had a defect UNDER the glass lense.
There seems to be a very thin small crack causing the beam to faintly scatter horizontally, this is very hard to show on camera but very easy to see in person.
No amount of microfiber, glass cleaning, lense cleaning kit has resolved it and olight customer service has been silent, I have yet to recieve any reply from anyone at olight.
The clip has weakened and there is an audible tick from being loose, if you lightly tap down on it, into the light body.
The sliding switch to change light modes is loose, id say its roughly 1cm of play and the physical notch has lost 50% of its feel, its very easy to accidentally switch light modes, especially so in the pocket.
The push button to turn on/off and adjust brightness is a bit mushy now, it no longer has a sharp confident press / release.
The side laser button from day one has felt pretty cheap and flimsy, one of my big worries was it wearing out fast due to how soft / light it was to activate, oddly, it has held up better than the primary on off button.
The light body dents easy, the first few accidental drops put dents into the edges and the cerakote they brag is tougher, scratches / scrapes / rubs off very easy, part of the light body on my arkpro is down to the base metal.
The good of the light is beam patterns and brightness for its intended use.
You get a lot of usefull flood, the spotlight function is only useful up to maybe 20m, it does not have enough of a punch effect to beat the photonic barrier of other lights its size or even street/ building lights.
My other daily lights are an L17 and rein 3.0 both out perform the APU.
UV is great, the laser itself is strong but the defect mentioned above is too apparent.
Simply due to non existent olight customer support, I wouldnt purchase one again.
Even now, if they were to finally reach out after this post, id just cut my loss and use the light till it dies. current state of my arkpro ultra, take today.
