My 2nd ring I've made! Had some nice biggs Jasper rough that I thought would be suitable for another ring as it's a 7 on the mohs hardness scale and had no fractures from what I could tell.
Lovely patterning in this stone and best viewed in the sunlight as it's a bit dark. I apologize in advance for my dry hands.
I built the large wall with the arch back in 2024, and the client wanted me to finish the area beneath the arch to make it a more suitable garden bed in the lower area. Had to shape some of the stones to fit tightly where it meets the bedrock, and worked around the drainage pipe.
Similar to the previous wall, I matched the height of the existing walls on the right side (there's walls there, just difficult to see them because of the vegetation) to keep continuity the best I could. Fun little job!
Inspired by u/rufotris and with help from my newly acquired core drill bit set, I decided to make this ring from an agate I thought would be suitable for this style of carving.
It had to be made of something really tough and with no fractures in the stone to work. So I cut a 1/2" slice off a solid Thunderegg agate from my collection, drilled out the inner core first, then the outer core. Shaped it with the Foredom and polished on the flat lap.
