Accidental vulture
Was slabbing a Brazilian agate and the heel was very thin so I just dropped it in the cull bucket. After I finished cutting for the day I looked in the bucket and saw this vulture staring back at me. I had to go out in the yard and find him the perfect perch.
I thought about polishing it but it’s so fragile I’m afraid it would break. The scratches and ridges just make it looks like feathers
Person admiring a tree- found in a piece of AZ petrified wood.
Had to risk the heat to get some cuts in today 🥵😆ID’s in body text 👇
1 Tuxedo lace, 2 Manzanillo Lace, 3 El Sueco, 4 Botswana, 5-7 thundereggs from Laguna area, 8-9 Las Choyas ( opposites for sure ) 😆
Second cut with concept saw. Don’t worry-it’s just a random driveway rock!
Question about inlay
Morning, I was wondering if anyone would be able to tell me how to make precise cuts and mitres like in this ring. I have made opal inlay rings before but have wanted to attempt something like this or something with more mitre cuts in it. Im really interested to know how its done. Google has said to use diamond files to get a precise join but id like to hear your thought before I attempt it.

My Mind Is Gem’Blown- Part 2.
Here is a collection of single macro images from the gembone slab macro that I shared earlier today.

I Make Inlay-Style Dice and Wanted to Say Hi!
Hey all! I make dice for TTRPG (Dungeons and Dragons) using an "inlay-style" and wanted to share some of my favorite sets.
Recently, I joined my local Gem and Mineral club, and after being chided in the most supportive and encouraging way for not sharing what I do within the club, I figured I'd post here.
Until about a year ago I was struggling to blend lapidary with making dice, while not having access to the tools to do full on gemstone dice. Then I finally realize that I could cut slabs into small strips, socket those into inner dice with channels, and then cast it into a slightly larger mold.
Is this cloud pattern considered rare in chalcedony?
I bought this natural chalcedony months ago. The large white cloud appears to be completely enclosed within the translucent chalcedony, giving it a floating appearance when backlit
I haven't been able to find another specimen with a similar pattern. Is this uncommon, or have you seen similar pieces before?
My mind is Gem’blown🤯
When it comes to gembone, I feel pretty spoiled.
It takes a pretty spectacular piece to blow my mind these days. Well this slab definitely delivered! And I’m currently looking for the top of my head🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯
This slab comes from the Isaiah Breckbill collection, and is one of the funkiest pieces I’ve shot in quite some time.
