Solved: Unit wont turn on with a non compatible CF card (mine was 8gb)

Hey gang.

So I recently picked up a 404 OG in mint condition (on the outside) with original box and everything, but the thing is not turning on neither with the DC in, nor with batteries.

I opened it up, put some fresh solder on the pins of the on/off switch as I am thinking the problem lies somewhere on the main power line. Unfortunately the soldering didn't help. On the attached picture the pins in the red rectangle are the ones for the on/off switch, the blue circle marks the pins of the dc in.

Yall have any tips how to get this thing going? I have a 404A too, it powers up with the same adapter and batteries, so the problem lies within the machine.
