Oracle Dual Boiler - Inconsistent Tamping

Oracle Dual Boiler - Inconsistent Tamping

After an issue with our Oracle Touch. Breville replaced it with an Oracle Dual Boiler. Overall I like the machine, and there are some nice improvements from the previous generation of machines.

One problem I have though is that the tamps seems to be inconsistent or, consistently half good half bad. I was brewing a bunch of coffee to bring with to the cabin so I took advantage of the opportunity to see if there was a pattern. Essentially every other tamp was poor or not complete.

So the tamps were in order: good, bad, good, bad, bad, good, bad, good, bad, good, bad, good

I’m not sure if there is a fix. I’ve pulled the tamper and adjusted it a bit for less grounds, didn’t change anything. I’m not sure if there is a way to trigger a calibration, maybe I should just try a factory reset or something.

Anyone else running this and find a fix?

Thanks!

Frustrated about Missing Out

I’ve been looking at a few EVs, mostly thinking Lexus RZ.

It was very appealing because for the majority of the first half of the year there was a 72mo 0%APR + $5,000 incentive. Lexus extended this promotion multiple times.

I was waiting because I wanted to see the Lexus ES in person before making a decision.

Of course the week my local dealer got one of the new ES models in, Lexus ended this offer ahead of the listed end date.

The offer on RZ has since gone from the original 0% for 72 months with $5000 to 1.99% with $4500, to now 2.9%

I realize offers come and go and there will likely be 0% offered again at some point in the next 6-12 months. It’s just irking me that I didn’t take advantage of it when it was there because now I feel like it would be dumb to not wait for another promotion like that and be locked into paying a bunch of interest.

Just needed to vent into the void of the internet…
