What's with local no name bands charging $20 for tickets?

Seriously every time I see these bands they have like 1k followers and 10 monthly listeners on Spotify. Go anywhere else in the country a show like that would be free or maybe $5.

Has anyone here looked into/tried making a compressed earth block house?

See the video if you don't know what I am talking about. For context CEB is not the same thing as rammed earth or adobe. It's presumably much cheaper.

Not a joke, town square has been dramatically quieter since operation shield

Every other night the last two years we'd either have people drag racing around the complex, fights breaking out, etc. Guess they're all in jail now lol

Flipped trailer in almost the same exact spot as last week

Right off of washington exit. Just last week a pick-up pulling a similar size trailer also flipped maybe 100 yards west. I've noticed this stretch of road stopping suddenly oftendue to everyone speeding up+tailgating approaching harsh turns. Speed limit should be lowered and enforced.

4 car pileups occurring almost weekly on the same intersection

Intersection of 34th and the loop (west side). When is the city gunna fix that stupid intersection? The idea of a two-way stop sign intersecting with a 55 mph speed limit just seems kind of crazy to me

Report saving has become extremely buggy intermittently

Add a filter, hit save... filter gone.

Hit save and run, wheel spins, stays in edit mode, doesn't run. Changes not saved.

Never had these issues before, suddenly constant the last two months.

EDIT: It is also an issue where I hit edit, change nothing, try to close and it says "You want to close without saving your changes?"

This event was shut down by state troopers last night. Anyone know why?

There were like 5 cop cars. It appeared children were coming out of the event.

If you haven't tried Rotor City at the mall...

Garlic naan gyro burrito. It's off the chain. It's not on the menu but they'll make it if you ask for it. This place has become my favorite restaurant since they opened.

"We detected that a portion of the email sent by Salesforce from your org is still using an unverified domain"

Got this email from salesforce. They are able to detect this but provide absolutely no tooling or indication of where they detected it?

We already verified our domain. All of our emails are coming from that domain. Anybody know of a tool that can help with this?

Is anyone else getting busier with AI?

Don't get me wrong plugging in Claude makes life lot easier per task. However the asks and expectations in my org have exploded. I can barely keep up. I guess i was imagining that time spent working would shrink over time but with each new model, my hours per day are increasing. Im not like a smart guy or anything. My coworkers just seem so resistant to doing anything themselves.

Were red light cameras really so bad?

The reckless driving here has gotten so bad since they were removed in 2022. I remember moving here in 2021 and thinking it was relatively calm here and one of the pleasant surprises of moving.

I understand copious amounts of people were getting citations, but maybe they should? Like half of people are blowing through red lights. Half of people drive 30 mph over the speed limit. Is that really what we want? Does that actually make Amarillo better? or is it actually worse?

People who desire to leave Amarillo, but cannot, what are the reasons?

Why do you want to leave? Why are you unable to leave?

Personally I want to live somewhere with forests, rivers, etc. and more networking options in my industry. I cannot leave due to personal obligations. Money is not an issue.

I hear his repeated constantly by locals but when I think of a good place to raise kids I imagine

  • good places for kids to walk and bike, but the whole town is dangerous high speed roads
  • Clean parks, but our parks are filthy
  • lakes, rivers or creeks to swim or fish in, but we have none
  • Forests to walk or hike in, but we definitely don't have that
  • good schools, which we don't have
  • safe town, but crime is way above average for it's size

So what EXACTLY are people referring to? I was generally under the assumption the only reason people stayed here was because of restricting circumstances, such as finances or family ties.
