How's southeast san diego nowadays? I see quite a few posts from years ago that mentions things like gangs and four corners of death. But I keep seeing homes sell for $800K or more in these neighborhoods. The neighborhoods are Alta Vista, Encanto, Emerald Hills, Paradise Hills. I've been around Normal Heights and Rolando and west La Mesa but never regularly been anywhere south of the 94.
I currently have a sizable down payment from selling my condo and investments in stocks. I've already paid off the tax on selling stocks. I live in California and nowadays starter homes are like at least 850K and unfortunately I'm only at 125k salary. I'm eight years into my career and 2026 will be the ninth and expect my salary to rise in the future.
The reason I'm looking at homes is because I dont want to deal with bad HOA anymore and don't want someone above or below me. California is making it really hard to find a house I can comfortably afford.
It seems like I can afford 850K, and I don't have any debt so it's making me think I can probably do close to 900K? The down payment does not include my emergency fund, which would be about 4-5 months. I might have to adjust my 401k contribution a bit and give up HSA.
I know there will probably be people who will say move, but that's easier said than done. I've considered looking at other states, but anywhere that's remotely worth living (e.g. social, jobs, etc) are also expensive, and I'd have to find a job there too.
I hope this is an ok topic to post here. I'm new to Snowflake and having trouble figuring out compatible drivers and connectors for Snowflake and Spark. Maybe it's me, but the instructions on Snowflake's website isn't too clear.
From this page: https://docs.snowflake.com/en/user-guide/spark-connector-install, I see the instructions on how to choose the Spark connector. So let's say I'm using AWS Glue, which is currently v5.1 and scala 2.12 and spark 3.5.6. So I would choose spark-snowflake_2.12-3.1.9.jar.
Now, step 2 on that page: "Step 2: Download the Compatible Version of the Snowflake JDBC Driver" says to go to the release notes for the JDBC to find the compatible driver (https://docs.snowflake.com/release-notes/clients-drivers/spark-connector). I see spark connector 3.1.2 matches to JDBC 3.24.2, but it doesn't mention what JDBC for spark 3.1.9--is it JDBC 3.28.0 or can I go to JDBC 4.x.x?
