Which of these cars would be a good investment as a first car?
I am looking to get my first car this year. My mother suggested to me that I get a Chevy Trax since it is affordable, similar to the car I learned how to drive in (Chevy Equinox), and I get a family discount if I buy a GM car. After researching it more, it seems that the Chevy Trax isn't really worth it, as it breaks down easily after a few months, but these reviews seem very mixed, so I don't know if it's really as bad as people make it seem.
Here are the cars I'm looking at: 2026 Kia K4 LX, 2026 Mazda3 Sedan 2.5 S, 2027 Toyota Corolla 6 LE, 2025 Nissan Versa, 2026 Hyundai VENUE SE, 2025 Kia Soul, 2026 Chevy Trax LS, or a pre-owned Tesla Y.
I know a pre-owned Tesla most likely wouldn't be the smartest thing ever, but I've heard that it has good mileage and that it's worth it if you're somebody who's going to be commuting, which is an important factor for me, as this car would need to be able to withstand driving 2000 miles so I can bring it back with me to college and if I did get a Tesla, I would have access to chargers.
If there are any other cars that aren't listed that you may suggest, I am 100% open to them lol. Any sort of advice would be helpful.
