Midsummer Night's Dream - Victory - Lucy Grossmith - 256 Pieces

So I bought my first wooden puzzle last week.

I was really drawn to the image and knew it was something I wouldn't want to attempt in a large piece count but thought it would be a nice challenge in the medium size.

I was impressed with the packaging, although one piece came out of the box with a small chip broken off. I was a bit bummed about that because it is noticeable on the finished puzzle.

The process of building the puzzle was very enjoyable. It was a nice change from cardboard puzzles, and I am definitely open to doing more of them. I especially liked seeing all of the whimsy pieces.

English Cottage - eeBoo - Victoria Ball - 1000 Pieces

This was fairly challenging but in a good way. And I just think it is really pretty.

The Story Bean - RoseArt - Olivia Gibbs - 500 Pieces

This image of a bookshop by Olivia Gibbs is super charming, and the box it comes in is really cute, although a bit impractical for storage.

I loved the feel of the pieces, but the fit was so loose that there were many false fits. The top section was very difficult because of that and required a lot of reworking.

Puzzle Cafe - Magnolia - Shanya Bharti - 1000 Pieces

I got to do this as a traveling puzzle and loved it! 💗

I was a little nervous about all of the pink but I didn't need to be. Each area had a different pattern or shade, so that part wasn't bad at all.

There were a lot of fun sections in this puzzle, but my favorite part was doing the puzzles that are hanging inside the cafe windows. So meta! 🧩

Rainbow Buttons - Ceaco - Lars Stewart - 750 Pieces

I always love a good rainbow puzzle, and this one did not disappoint! I did this over two nights, starting with the red, pink, and orange the first night. Then I finished up the rest of the colors going left to right on the second night. So fun!

Houses in the Valley - Jacarou - 1000 Pieces

I enjoyed this one a lot. The quality was good, and I love the rich, bold colors. Buildings are one of my favorite things in puzzles, so this was right up my alley.

Black Cat - Fred - Karen Obuhanych - 500 Pieces

Cute and a little quirky. Makes me think of the black cat I had for my first cat as an adult.

Rabbit Hole Town - HUADADA - 500 Pieces

I came across this puzzle randomly on Amazon and just loved how cute it was. It makes me think of Peter Rabbit if he was all grown up. I love the little bedrooms and the concert hall, but my favorite space is the store near the top.

Bees & Honey - Cavallini & Co - 1000 Pieces

This is my third Cavallini & Co puzzle and I really enjoyed it. The image features vintage-style illustrations of honey bees, beehives, and pollinator-friendly plants. Piecing together the structures, the flowers, and the banner at the top was quite pleasant. The larger insects were easy enough but kind of creepy.

I got a bit stuck when it came to all the small bees and the plain colored pieces. Luckily a friend came over and helped me with them. It was much more fun working on those tedious pieces with someone else.

Redoing my first puzzle from five years ago

It has been five years this month since I started doing puzzles! In honor of that anniversary, I redid my first puzzle. When I did it the first time, several of the pieces had separated from the cardboard backing (see pic). I have glued them back together now.

The quality of the puzzle was definitely an issue with a lot of peeling on the knobs and the pieces having what I can only describe as a squishy fit. The finish was quite glossy as well, and the lighting where I was doing it made that challenging.

I still had a great time putting the puzzle together again though. The flowers and butterflies came together quickly and the words took a lot longer, just how I remember it the first time.

I am so thankful to my therapist, who had suggested I needed a hobby in addition to reading. Little did she know my foray into puzzling would turn into an ongoing obsession that would give me so much joy and result in me finding a whole bunch of people who love it just as much as I do!

Green Room - Soonness - Rowon - 1000 Pieces

I love the artwork but think the puzzle is overpriced for the quality.

The Beach Hut - Ravensburger - Steve Read - 1000 Pieces

Such a fun image! A friend found this at a flea market and gave it to me last Christmas. I was so pleased to find that it was complete and in good condition.

Times Square Dogs - Ceaco - Amanda Haley - 1000 Pieces

This was such a fun puzzle to put together! It was like having two puzzles in one because I could do all the colorful billboards in sections and then use the pick and place method for all of the dogs on the square.

There was a lot of puzzle dust and I left the top border for last because it was all one color and it was difficult to know if I had the pieces in the right spots. I didn't have any issues with the rest of the puzzle, though.

Cozy Cafe - Trevell - Artist Anna Vaughn J - 1000 Pieces

This Cozy Cafe is aptly named. There are so many charming details, from the colorful patterns on the rug and tablecloth to all the goodies in the display case to the adorable furry companions. The quality is exceptional as well. The pieces come in a drawstring cotton bag and are so lovely to work with.

I never felt stuck as there was always a new color or texture to work on. I do have to admit that I find slanted sections a bit challenging when it comes to placing sections where they go, but that's just because my brain doesn't work that way!

I am so glad I picked this one up when I had the chance. 💗

Done at the library puzzling group

I went to my second meeting of the library puzzling group yesterday and we did two 500-piece puzzles. I really enjoyed it!

Musical Mermaids - Bits and Pieces - Bonnie White

Niagara Falls - Dowdle - Eric Dowdle (missing one piece and had an extra piece from some other puzzle)

The Tree of Hope - Pintoo - 300 Pieces

I redid this puzzle yesterday while I was waiting for some friends to get to my place to hang out. I enjoyed it just as much as I did the first time. I love the four seasons theme.

Stockholm by Uta Krogmann - Eeboo - 1000 Pieces

I was in the mood for an Eeboo puzzle so I pulled this one out and did it over a couple of days. The buildings were the main attraction for me but I also enjoyed the other sections like the boat and the outdoor cafe.

Loving Kindness - Buffalo Games - Lisa Marie Thalhammer - 300 Pieces

Super fun, easy puzzle! I love how bright it is.

Mister Pike Takes a Wrong Turn - Mon Joli - Katherine Quinn - 1000 Pieces

This needs to be my next vacation spot! I love this charming town near the water.

It was my first experience with Mon Joli and it was fabulous. The image was so relaxing and had so many different sections to focus on. The pieces fit together beautifully, and the smooth matte finish was wonderful.

This is definitely a keeper - I can see myself doing it again for sure!

Set of 4 Kat Fedora puzzles from Magnolia, 260 pieces each

Top row: Boho Vibes and Follow Your Path

Bottom row: Nightfall and Finding Dreamland

I loved this set! I would have been intimidated by some of these in 1000 pieces, but the 260 piece count was perfect for me. I enjoyed all of them, but Nightfall is my favorite.
