Discharge assistance
Hi humans. My son (19) completed Kapooka last week however, rather than being stationed has been informed he is receiving a md discharge. Unfortunately, we know this puts an end to a military career and he is pretty bummed. I don't know what happened to bring this on and he isn't ready to share, that's okay.
He is in the process, or so he tells me, of getting a White Card and a discharge letter so he can access services when he comes home. Although I am not sure he fully understands the necessity of getting them so I don't know if he really will organise them.
Can anyone shed some light on how the process works, please?
Will the Army transport him home by way of a bus or train ticket and a bus ride to the Wagga station? Or, will I have to collect him from base? He has told me he doesn't know yet and hasn't been given an exact date but its looking like next week some time. I however, have a full time job and dependants at home, so need forward planning to organise time off and care ect.
Thanks for any input!
