How can I help my 13 son improve weight weight issues?

My 13 son has been slowly but steadily gaining weight recently. It's gotten far enough that I stopped ignoring it and have had multiple conversations with him about his important health is, how detrimental excess weight can be, etc.

His mother and i (separated but friends) have discussed it and tried to coordinate effort to help but i only have him on weekends so it seems my impact is minimal. I have no direct control over what they're eating or what foods are available at their house.

We've known for awhile that he's got a crazy sweet tooth and it worries me. A year or two ago we'd constantly be finding hoarded sweets hidden in his room. Hasn't been as much lately but honesty i think it's just a matter of he's gotten smarter about where he stashes stuff.

There are still regular instances where overeating is obvious (a box of donuts left out after a party, missing five of them an hour later when he's the only one that's been in the house, etc).

I don't know what else to do but I'm getting really worried that he could develop longer term issues, if he hasn't already.

Has anyone dealt with something like this before?

Small businesses on the eastside?

I’m putting together a little Co-op of local businesses as a way to work together to reduce crazy marketing costs.

This is a huge 12x9 postcard that'll be sent to about 10,000 homes, featuring respected local businesses who serve the east Tucsn area. I don’t allow competition (1 from each industry), so it’s first come first served.

If you know of a business that deserves that kind of exposure feel free to mention them or shoot me a message.

I will be solo driving from Tucson to Orlando mid-June. I've got two medium-sized female dogs, both around 11 years old. Traveling in a 2011 Subaru Forester with one of those backseat platforms-with-sides so they have a comfy stable surface all to themselves.

I'd planned to break the trip into roughly 6 hours of driving per day across five days, with plenty of rest area stops for walking around, bathroom, etc. And staying nights at pet-friendly hotels.

They don't seem to mind 1-2 hour long car rides but they've never done 6 hours a day and, obviously, not 5 days in a row.

Any tips from people that have done long trips with dogs before? Anything I've missed?
