Enamel Wash made paint come off
Ok this happened to me and I’m truly perplexed: I already worked with all these products on exactly the same 3d printed terrain and I have no idea why it happened now. Maybe someone knows what could have caused it? It looks like the paint came off down to primer, and not bare plastic.
Here are the steps I did:
3D printed FDM Terrain
Army painter black rattle can primer
Airbrushed base colours (acrylic)
AK interactive chipping medium
More acrylics
Chipped away some of the acrylics with water
AK Rust Streaks (enamel)
I’m thinking it was the chipping medium doing me dirty like that, but it had something like 32+ hours to dry before I applied the enamels and it never happened before. I did not varnish prior to enamels, but again, I never did and it never caused any problems. Can somebody maybe pinpoint the issue here? Doesn’t look like it’s the primer / printing residue as the primer seems to be fully intact. Any help greatly appreciated, thanks!
