How Emiway Turned the 64 Bar Counter Into Part of the Punchline
So I went back and actually counted the bars on Emiway’s Red Bull 64 Bars drop, SAFAL
This was a pretty unique 64 Bars drop cos Emiway not only has a hook, but also goes past the 64 bar counter and ends the verse with the meta punchline:
“Aur bar ka sale yaha hota rahega
Even if band hua bar counter.”
The best part here is that the execution is actually really well thought out. The hook itself is 10 bars long:
“Kya bolte?
Kaun dera hai dhakal?
Jo kehte the kya hi kamayega
Waqt batayega bola tha
Betha hu top pe
Khatam hua mera struggle
Ab dikhe na shakal
Jo karte the shaq
Hum bole wassup to paisa bhi hora hai double
Bhai hai safal (Ha safal hai)”
and if you watch the counter behind him, it hits 64 right when he says the bar:
“Jo shiii kare sound par ye na koi Saurav.”
From there, the verse continues for exactly 10 more bars and ends on the punchline I mentioned above. So the main verse body still stays within the 64 bar format, while the “extra” 10 bars are essentially used to set up the meta ending. He didn’t just go over the counter randomly, the structure of the whole track was built around that payoff.
LOVED the thought Emi put into this, it makes the execution so much cooler imo. Emiway is known for his extremely strong hook game, so it was so fucken dope that he made sure to bring a proper banger hook to a format that usually revolves around straight 64 bars, while still respecting the core rule of the challenge.
