Am I the only one who loved both Season 3 and 4?
I know a lot of people disliked Seasons 3 and 4, but I absolutely loved them both! The only episodes I wasn't too fond of were the Hind trilogy episodes. I don't feel Serena was Herc's type, and the whole romance felt rushed. Serena came across as weak and useless to me, and Hercules doesn't date or marry weak-ass, useless women! 😂 LOL. Yes, I'm well aware of the chemistry between Kevin Sorbo and his wife, but still!
That said, I do enjoy parts of the trilogy, especially the Ares and Strife scenes. I also somewhat like "Judgement Day" because it's a crossover, and it gave me closure that Xena and Herc would never be anything more than good friends. I'm actually a Herc and Xena shipper, and if Gabby wasn't in the picture, Herc is exactly who I would've wanted Xena to end up with! LOL.
Anyway, back to why I love Season 3! It has everything: comedy, drama, romance, and a great mixture of serious and light-hearted moments. I absolutely love "The Green-Eyed Monster", "Mummy Dearest", "The Mercenary", "Love Takes a Holiday", "Atlantis", and "Reign of Terror". There are just so many goodies in that season! It's such a fantastic combination of drama and comedy.
Season 4 was also brilliant! It gave us so many great episodes, including "Hero's Heart", "Beanstalks and Bad Eggs", "Armageddon Now" Parts 1 and 2, "Stranger in a Strange World", "Two Men and a Baby", "Regrets... I've Had a Few", "Web of Desire", "Top God", "Prodigal Sister", "Porkules", and "One Fowl Day".
Like Season 3, Season 4 had a wonderful balance of comedy and drama. Plus, we got more Aphrodite, Ares, Salmoneus, Autolycus, and all the other characters I love seeing!
For me, Seasons 5 and 1 are tied as my absolute favourites, but Seasons 3 and 4 are tied for second place. I genuinely don't understand why they get so much dislike because, apart from the Hind trilogy, I think both seasons have so much to offer. They're packed with memorable episodes, great characters, hilarious moments, and plenty of drama. That's exactly what I love about Hercules: The Legendary Journeys!
