The 25 year jump didnt make sense
So I was talking to one of my professors, and we were talking about life expectancy in the ancient world ( my qualifications are in Classics, ancient history and biblical studies, mentioning them to explain why I was having the conversation) and he did watch Xena back in the day, one of the classes he was preparing to create for his syllabus was for a class called Greek and Roman mythology and Pop Culture and I brought up Xena and HTLJ;
Anyway, we were talking about life expectancy and that if you take away childhood and infant mortality, regular folk lived until their 50s and 60s, the elite lived into their 60s, 70s and sometimes even 80s
So I mentioned the time jump on Xena, and we both acknowledged that, of course, Xena and HTLJ were not being historical, etc., but still, the 25-year jump made it seem like they hadn't had many of their friends still alive.
Of course, people like Salomoneous would be dead because he was older, maybe in his 50s, and he was a travelling salesman, but Autoculyus, who retired on HTLJ to become a banker, might have very well been still alive.
We know Herc is still alive; he is half god and presumably immortal, so he does not count.
So would have been Minya, and anyone and everyone around their age still be. Which is understandable when they woke up, they expected their families to still be alive, especially Gabrielle's, since her parents would have been younger than Cyrene.
The fact that they just moved on without a deep depression or even checked with Hercules just made no sense, and Eve was just useless after the Livia arc...
I feel the time jump and season 6 would have been much better if they had addressed these issues. There were some highlights in Season 6, the subtext, etc., but overall, the time jump made no sense
