Such an interesting name, I wonder how you came by it…?
Postmaster general says USPS won't deliver mail ballots if states don’t give Trump admin voter rolls
Even if the courts overrule this, can we trust that these MAGAts won’t just do it anyway?
This is a massively corrupt overreach by the federal government, and if they’re successful in getting this allowed, we won’t have a democracy anymore.
Eric Trump asked a UFC analyst if there might be any rigged fights he should bet on.
Not surprising in the least. They simply cannot resist any opportunity to corruptly line their pockets. And why shouldn’t they? Republicans don’t care when it’s their side, a third of this country *likes* it, and the SCOTUS seems willing to give passes, or minimize accountability.
David couldn’t be more correct when he says Democrats should run anti-corruption campaigns alongside affordability issues. Convince the people the reason everything is so expensive, and their bills are so high, is *because* of Republican corruption by running nonstop videos of Trump saying he loves inflation and doesn’t care about American’s financial wellbeing while his family is trying to bet on rigged fights, and refusing to release all the Epstein files.
What a clown show.
In case anyone was wondering why I hate the cancer of theism:
I know I’m preaching to the choir here, but I just wanted to kvetch.
A Mormon woman I know personally, and is a survivor of sexual abuse by a member of their local leadership when they were a child, when I asked why they stayed in a religion that protects pedophiles, their response was, ‘What about everyone else, like the Catholic Church? Everyone has that problem! It causes the same pain as being yelled at.’
So I confirmed it with, ‘You think being yelled at causes the same pain as sexual abuse?’
‘Yes.’
I was absolutely flabbergasted. No wonder they don’t care about all the pedophiles in their communities, because they think it’s the same as getting yelled at.
Once a cheater, always a cheater? Data says it is likely, but not a given.
On the bonus show today, Pat tried to brush off the story about Platner cheating on his wife as a simple personal matter, and that it would be a leap to say it might impact Platner’s decisions as a politician, but ack-shew-uh-lee, Pat, infidelity in marriage DOES correlate to shitty behavior outside the marriage, and specifically in the workplace.
While it is true that people can make mistakes that aren’t representative of their true character, and personal views and actions can dramatically change over time, AND that this might be the exact case for Platner, it also turns out that most intimate relationship cheaters are more than willing to also abuse trust outside of intimate relationships. Meaning, that being a known cheater actually IS a good indicator of potential abuses of trust in the future, so it’s not a leap to be concerned that they may also abuse trust elsewhere, like their job, it’s the next logical step.
I still think Platner is a much better dice roll than Collins, AND ALSO, the lying about the Nazi tattoo (my own personal opinion, I’m just not convinced he didn’t know what it was), and now the cheating? Oy vey… This isn’t a standard the Left should accept just because conservatives do it too, AND ALSO, Platner could be genuinely remorseful, and is clearly a more hopeful option than Collins, but please, sirs, with tears in my eyes, don’t be so naive about cheaters.
Great looking shot of the skyline, and sunset from tonight’s game.
That defense was ridiculous. Great job boys!

Just wanted to share this teaching module I just finished reading through, from Boston University, that compares capitalism and socialism. I’ve been wanting to know the academic understanding because in most online spaces it seems like nobody, including myself, knows what they are talking about, or have wildly differing definitions of these concepts, and this was really informative.
The biggest takeaways for me was that it surprised me to learn that most economies are considered ‘mixed’ economies, with varying spectrums of capitalism, or socialism, as opposed to full on capitalism, or full on socialism, and that China is considered a ‘planned capitalism’ economy, which is still hard for my brain to wrap around.
Basically, on a spectrum (as with most things), the more decentralization of economic decisions to individuals, the more it is a market economy, with the inverse being a centralized planned economy. And what makes an economy socialist is if the dominant property owner is the government, as opposed to private citizens.
Interesting stuff!
I once drunkenly burned a Yankee hat that was gag gifted to me on my birthday. There is still a burn mark on my parent’s front porch, and I’m still not sorry mom. I did what I had to do.
I also didn’t buy this year’s MLB The Show because Judge was on the cover.
