I was able to join a group of friends that play Catan weekly and convinced them to do a mini tournament 2 games of 4 (both played on mega table). Same board for both games to replicate real tournaments scenario, and I replaced one wheat resource for brick. We took the top two from both games and played a final table. I took the W in both!

I had a great time, definitely a lot more fun than I imagined. It’s hard to get time in playing with friends nowadays since my wife is recovering from multiple surgeries and we have a 3.5 year old at home (we call him Threenager).

The last photos are of my friend Johnny purposely ruining another players evening my blocking him in. Johnny got 4th that game.

Hopefully I’ll see some of you there at Taproom 122.

There is a food truck there and I plan on playing from 5-9. If you have a Catan set and can bring just in case? Let’s see how this goes. Super casual you guys, I’m just looking to play! From the recent posts it sounds like we can probably field 2-3 games of 4. But if you’re planning on playing, please give a heads up.

Has been tremendously helpful/life changing for me. I’ve been on it since the End of August along with an antidepressant. I weighed 330 in this first photo and I currently weigh 261. Last summer I finally took charge of my mental health and got with therapists, counselors, doctors and started dealing with my issues. I don’t want to go into detail right now, but one of my triggers was eating and just snacking. I’ve been big and muscular for most of my adult life. I just could not help myself with eating.

I’m 5’11” and would like to get down to a svelt look. Fixing my feet problems and sleep apnea has been another huge improvement

Let me know if this is all ready established in the area or not, I just looked around and have not seen much…

But I’m looking to set up a weekly/monthly Catan game. Depending on how many players we can pull. The Catan circuit doesn’t have a lot of Regional Qualifiers in Oregon. There have been only 3-4 tournaments in Portland in the last 7 months. They have been looking for more players out on the West side. I played In a qualifier that barely got 12 players in Vancouver (12 is minimum). More players = More tournaments.

Win one of these and you goto Regionals in Cali. Get top four there and you get a seat at Nationals.

I mostly play online when I get a chance, but I enjoy playing live games. I went to Nationals in Colorado last summer.
