Black ink suddenly bleeding out on wood
Hi everyone,
I’ve been doing a lot of printing on wood over the last few days, mostly CMYK-only without white. I have printed at least 50 of these wooden stands without any issues. However, since yesterday, the black ink has been bleeding heavily into the wood. It's also noticeable on thicker fonts or a solid black square. I’ve tested it on paulownia wood as well as pine and spruce, and it’s the exact same problem everywhere. As a test, I also printed red without a white undercoat, and I'm still very happy with the results there.
When I print with a white undercoat, the black text can be scraped off or even smeared with very little effort, almost as if the UV lamp didn't cure the ink properly. I sanded the wood beforehand. On plastic, however, everything prints perfectly normal.
Has anyone happened to encounter a similar issue before? I’d rather not resort to a deep clean just on a hunch.
