Who packs up DIY decor at the end of the night?

We’re looking into doing some DIY decor (multiple signs, favors, florals, photo booth backdrop, etc.) to save money, but I’m stressed about the logistics of the breakdown. Our venue requires a hard stop at 10 PM and everything cleared by midnight.

Because we aren’t going to be local (2.5hrs from home for most people), everyone is staying in hotels or Airbnbs + Ubering, and I really don't want to burden our friends or family with manual labor after a night of drinking and dancing.

If you did DIY decor, who handled the late-night pack-up? In your experience, did your day-of coordinator handle this, or does it inevitably fall on friends, family, or the couple? How did you manage it?

Decor Geniuses — Unite!

Halp! This is our venue….shes a big girl. How the heck would you decorate / fill the space of both the outside (where the ceremony and cocktail hr will be) and inside (reception)? Adding photos of the blank space + a couple AI images that I tried to make. We’re inviting only 50 people so I want to do my best to not make it feel too empty. For context, this is in Santa Barbara, Ca., date is 5/8/27, and across the street from the beach, so I want California/coastal/springtime vibe. Help me get creative!

Portable Restrooms at Wedding

We’re having our wedding at The Carousel House (Santa Barbara, Ca.) next May 2027. We love the venue and location so much, we just do not love the restroom situation. It’s a city ran venue, so restrooms are maintained but they’re still kind of gross, dingy, smelly, etc….basically what you would expect a public park restroom to be like. With that said, we’re leaning towards renting a portable restroom (trailer with a few stalls). My question is, is renting a restroom trailer tacky? Or is having the public restrooms worse? If you were a guest, what would bother you most?
